WWII USN M-422-A Sz. 40 Jacket w/ Disney VBF-94 Patch Named to A.K.Nensewitz U.S.N.R.

WWII United States Navy M-422-A Size 40 Pilot Jacket of Karl A. Nensewitz, 1945 Corsair pilot, USS Lexington (VBF-94). The jacket features a Disney designed leather squadron patch named to the pilot, it read"ALFRED KARL NENSEWITZ INS. USNR" along the bottom (although ÔAlfred' is quite worn), opposite breast features a black leather name tag with gold embossed letters reading: "A.K. NENSEWITZ U.S.N.R.". The jacket is a handsome dark brown leather with great faux fur collar and red inner lining, the jacket features two front pockets that button closed and an interior side pocket with a metal snap. Alfred Karl Nensewitz was a founding member of the Besser Company and also their corporate pilot for a time.

Size 40. Approximately 22" from armpit to armpit; 28" length from collar to hem (on reverse); 25" from shoulder seam to cuff; 18 ½" between shoulders

Leather, metal zipper, resin buttons, faux fur, paint

Inside tag worn: "JACKETS INTERMEDIATE BUAERO Ð US NAVY SPECIFICATION M-422A GORDON & FERGUSON CO CONTRACT NO. NOs 416-A"; Disney Patch: "ALFRED (worn) KARL NENSEWITZ INS. U.S.N.R.

8+ (Excellent): Jacket show light to medium wear, cuffs and bottom hem are in good condition, the leather Disney patch has seen age and displays cracks, however the overall picture and name quite distinguishable. There is a small hole in the interior lining (see photo). Overall, jacket is in great shape, soft leather.

As with all my artifacts, this piece is guaranteed to be original, as described.
