ARTIFACT:
This is a United States Army AIr Forces 455th Bomb Squadron, 323rd Bomb Group, 8th Air Force, 9th Air Force patch. The patch belonged to Lieutenant Colonel Albert Satterwhite. It shows a hand giving the thumbs up signal. Although by 29 February 1944, then Lt. Colonel Satterwhite was the Commanding Officer of the 455th Bomb Squadron, early on in the war Lt. Satterwhite was just one of the many pilots in the 453rd Bomb Squadron. This patch was his at that early part of the war, and has a label on it recording his history from after he transferred to the 455th Bomb Squadron. An interesting piece of WWII aviation history.

7- (Very Fine-): Paint vibrant but moderately cracked; leather is very soft.
