ARTIFACT: This is a World War II A-2 jacket from the United States Army Air Forces 389th Bomber Group, which flew B-24 airplanes nicknamed "Pizdoff". The jacket has a painted "wing" and two painted "patches": one "patch" is a representation of the B-24's nose art and the other represents the number of completed missions of either the jacket's owner or possibly the entire crew. The first "patch" shows a disgruntled (or "Pizdoff" = pissed off) Donald Duck in flight gear and reads "PIZDOFF" beneath. The other "patch" is three rows of ten bombs each with the words 389th HEAVIES and 24's between the rows. The jacket is accompanied by a list of 389th Bomb Group members with the name of the jacket's original owner circled: T/Sgt. Allen P. Gray of Georgia.

VINTAGE: Circa World War II.

SIZE: Size 44.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Leather, cotton/linen lining, elasticized cotton waistband and cuffs, metal snaps/zipper, painted "patches".
