ARTIFACT: This is a large jacket patch for the United States Army Air Forces 317th Fighter Squadron, 325th Fighter Group of the 15th Air Force. This squadron flew P-40s, P-47s, and P-51s. The patch shows a hornet or wasp covered in checkerboard.

VINTAGE: Circa World War II.

SIZE: About 5" high and 5 ½" wide.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Embroidery thread on cotton.

ATTACHMENT: To be sewn onto garment.

MARKINGS: None.

ITEM NOTES: This is from a United States Army Air Forcces collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. VCEJX08 LGGEX

CONDITION: 7- (Very Fine-) This patch is generally in excellent condition but shows some wear and mothing around the edge and trailing on the body of the patch.
