This is a World War II United States Marine Corps shoulder patch for the 52nd Defense Battalion, the second combat unit in the Marines made up of solely African-American soldiers. The patch is crest-shaped and shows a banner with four stars and 52.
VINTAGE:World War II.
SIZE:3-11/16" height and 2-7/16" width.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Fully embroidered patch in multi-colored cotton/silk threads.
ATTACHMENT:To be sewn onto garment.
