This is a circa World War II United States Army "PX" GI service lighter by Dunhill. The lighter is painted brown and has a slim striking surface on either side near the main cylinder. Lighters such as these were nicknamed "PX" for Post Exchange, a serviceman's go-to store for necessities and "luxuries" alike.
VINTAGE:Circa World War II.
SIZE:Approximately 2-3/8" in length and 5/8" in diameter.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Painted steel, brass.
ATTACHMENT:Wheel.
MARKINGS:MADE IN U.S.A. PAT. PEND. Dunhill Service Lighter TRADE MARK.
