Description

ARTIFACT:

WWII United States Army Engineers wrist compass with original leather band, nice condition. The back of the compass is marked "Corps Of Engineers/U.S. Army" along with the manufacturers name and city.

VINTAGE:

Circa WWII.

SIZE:

2 1/4" round with an approximately 13" leather wrist band.

CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:

Bakelite (olive drab), clear plastic, fluid, and nickel with a leather strap.

ATTACHMENT:

Leather wrist band with buckle.

MARKINGS:

CORPS OF ENGINEERS U.S. ARMY MANUFACTURED BY SUPERIOR MAGNETIC CORP L.I. CITY N.Y. U.S.A.

CONDITION:

8- (Very Fine - Excellent): Compass shows minor wear, clear plastic has a spot of clouding and minor surface wear, the compass is in working condition and the leather band is supple.
