Description
This is a great World War II United States 8th Air Force grouping which belonged to a pilot named W. E. Bohan, a prisoner-of-war who was shot down. Pilot Bohan was in the 532nd Bomber Squad, 381st Bomber Group. The grouping contains a jacket patch, a sterling pilot wing, two name strips and negatives. The patch depicts a flying horse snorting thunderbolts flanked by bomber wings.
VINTAGE:Circa WWII.
SIZE:5-1/2 diameter.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Chenille patch with a dirigible skin backing, sterling silver wing, leather name strips.
ATTACHMENT:Wing has horizontal pin with drop-in swivel catch.
MARKINGS:STERLING on wing and hard-to-read chenille company stamp on patch reverse.
