This is a World War II submarine launch tag for the USS Trutta SS-421, launched from the Portsmouth Naval Ship Yard on August 18, 194Trutta earned two battle stars for her World War II service and was assumed by the Turkish Navy.
VINTAGE:Circa 1944.
SIZE:Approximately 2-1/16 in height (excluding 3-5/8" of string) and 1-3/4" in width.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Foiled card stock with silk string.
ATTACHMENT:Punched hole with string.
MARKINGS:None.
ITEM NOTES:This is from a United States Navy collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. LBHX7/11
