WWII New Zealand-Made Fighting or Knuckle Knife Carried by US Marine D. Dixon Maker Mark

This is a World War II fighting or knuckle knife made in New Zealand: it is rare for a knife such as this to have a maker mark. This comes in its original leather scabbard, upon which the name of the original owner, D. Dixon, United States Marine Corps, is scratched. The knife has crosshatching on its grip and spiky "knuckle" holders.

Circa World War II.

Approximately 3-1/8" in width and 10-3/4" in length; blade only: 6-1/16" in length and 31/32" in width; scabbard only: approximately 11-1/2" in length and 3-9/16" in width.

Steel, plated brass, leather.

Strap with button closure and rear slit on scabbard, rivets.

AKE Regd on blade; D. DIXON USMC and what appears to be some profanity carved into scabbard.
