This is a World War II Minnesota Defense Force (aka State Guard) distinctive collar insignia by Wendell's of Minneapolis and shows the state's seal and motto, "L'Etoile du Nord" (The Star of the North).

Circa World War II.

Approximately 1-1/8" in diameter.

Plated brass.

Horizontal pin on bar with C catch.
