ARTIFACT:
This is a World War II grouping of engraved and bullion wings, a ring, an ID bracelet, two medals, a ribbon bar and a hat badge to United States Army Air Forces Captain and Military Attaché Warren E. (Elmer) Jenks. Jenks perished in an airplane crash while piloting a C-45F in Rio de Janeiro on October 11, 1946. One of the medals is the Air Medal with a wrapped brooch and the other is the United States Air Corps Distinguished Flying Cross. The ribbon bar is wartime and has some oak leaves and two stars affixed to it.

Circa World War II.
SIZE:
Bullion wing: approximately 4-3/16" by 1-3/4" engraved wing: 13/16" by 3" hat badge: 2-3/8" by 2-3/8"bracelet: 7-1/2" in total length; Air Medal: 3-5/8" by 1-5/8" ribbon bar: 7/16" by 4" ring : approximate size 10.
MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION:
Bullion wing: ribbed wool embroidered in bullion with mesh backing; engraved wing; sterling silver; medals: bronze with silk; badge: gilt brass; bracelet: sterling silver; ring: sterling silver with semi-precious stone.
ATTACHMENTS:Engraved wing; horizontal pin with locking catch (swivel part of catch is missing); bracelet: linked chain with clasp; medals: horizontal pins, suspension rings, brads.
MARKINGS:
STERLING WARREN JENKS ONEIDA, N.Y. RPI(?) on reverse of wing; H.J . STERLING and H.J.U. inside ring band; Warren Jenks 0-4674-54 STERLING on reverse of bracelet.
