ARTIFACT: This is a World War II Convair (Consolidated-Vultee Aircraft) at San Diego roving worker badge pass to gain access to all area shops. Consolidated was formed in 1923 and soon gained fame for its production of flying boats (seaplanes). In 1943 Consolidated Aircraft merged with Vultee Aircraft to form Consolidated-Vultee Aircraft (Convair). The badge is by Whitehead and Hoag of Newark, New Jersey. It has a blue painted frame and is numbered 98.

VINTAGE: Circa World War II.

SIZE: Approximately 2" in diameter.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Nickel-plated brass, painted areas, paper, celluloid.

ATTACHMENT: Vertical pin with drop-in locking catch.

MARKINGS: 98; WHITEHEAD-HOAG on reverse.

CONDITION: 7 (Very Fine): The badge has light yellowing of the paper and some small areas of light wear and tarnish.
