ARTIFACT: A beautiful WWII US Navy Commodore Star. The rank of commodore was reinstated for wartime use in April 1943 and has since changed to Rear Admiral Lower Half / US Marine Corp Brigadier General. Star rank insignia made out of sterling by Hilborn & Hamburger.

VINTAGE: Circa World War II

SIZE: Approximately 1 1/16" x 1 1/16"

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Sterling silver, possibly rhodium plated

ATTACHMENT: Horizontal pin with drop in locking swivel catch.

MARKINGS: STERLING with Hilborn & Hamburger logo, a spread eagle containing the letters H & H

ITEM NOTES: This is from a small group of navy rank insignia which we will be listing more of over the next few months. MBEX14 LAAEX9/14 SHEX4/17

CONDITION: 9+ (Near Mint-): Extremely minor nicks/wear over the past 70 years.
