ARTIFACT:
This is a lovely leather World War II United States Army Air Forces 44th Bomb Squadron, 40th Bomb Group, 20th Air Force patch in a small size. After a stint in the Panama Canal Zone, the 44th was called upon to fly B-29 Superfortresses in the CBI theatre in 1943. It was hand-painted in the China-Burma-India theatre and shows a red, white and black bird carrying a bomb in its talons.

Painted leather.

6+ (Fine-Very Fine): The patch has some light to medium wear and soiling; leather is somewhat stiff.
