ARTIFACT: Nice WWII USAAF Air Corps Ferrying Command - Air Transport Command Pilot Grouping of Lionel E. Newman. 

Grouping includes Quiet Birdmen member card: the member card reads: "The bearer is a member of ye Anciente and Secret Order of Quiet Birdmen FOUNDED JANUARY 1921" below is the membership creed and along the bottom it reads: "Q.B. L. E. Newman No. 6296". 
Grouping includes a theater-made bullion CBI shoulder patch, leather name tag, USAAF officer collar insignia, ribbon bar, unsewn patch, and rank insignia. 
Also, a Christmas card from Miami Beach Florida featuring a photo from New Castle Army Air Base in Delaware and other black and white period candid photos, as well as painted and sepia portrait photos, including one showing Capt. Newman in his early days, wearing his A-2 displaying an Air Transport Command Squadron patch. 
Personal identification tags read: "LIONEL E. NEWMAN 0-500474 T42 A MRS. ETHEL NEWMAN 8024 7TH AVE. N. BIRMINGHAM, ALA. P". 
Captain Newman's Instrument Pilot Certificate for the Memphis Tennessee 4th Ferrying Group dated January, 20th 1945 with a documented total of 2791 and 440 flying hours in the past twelve months, the certificate features a stamp reading: "FERRYING DIVISION OFFICIAL WAR DEPARTMENT MEMPHIS, TENN. NO.554TN A.A.F. BASE UNIT AIR TRANSPORT COMMAND". 
The grouping also includes Capt. Newman's WWII Military 1st Pilot Service Card issued November 6, 1946 by Captain T.J. Hester.

CONDITION: 8- (Overall Very FineExcellent): QB member card shows moderate use, nearly all of the plating details remain intact, as do enamel details on QB wing, bullion patch, ribbon bar, and name tag all show moderate wear, and patches were removed from uniform. The certificates and photos are in excellent condition, no rips, tears or discoloration.
