ARTIFACT: This is a scarce circa 1918 lapel-size War Service Ship Building badge for upper management. The gilt badge has 1918 and the original owner's initials scratched upon reverse. The badge was made by Whitehead & Hoag Company.

VINTAGE: Circa 1918.

SIZE: Approximately 15/16" in height and 3/4" in width.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Gilt brass, enamel.

ATTACHMENT: Vertical pin with tongue-style catch.

MARKINGS: 1918, ENN initials scratched in reverse; W&H CO. (Whitehead & Hoag Company maker mark).

CONDITION: 7 (Very Fine): The badge has light wear and some small spots of oxidation.
