ARTIFACT: This is a World War I grouping belonging to Louis R. Hyde of Boston, Massachusetts, chief mechanic in the US Army's 55th Artillery, battalion F. The grouping includes a hat with 55 on it, convention pins from 1937 and 1939, a button, a whistle, dog tag and an ear protector tin. The dog tag reads LOUIS R. HYDE CHIEF MECHANIC BAT. F. 55TH ART U.S.A. and ear protector tin reads ELLIOTT PERFECT EAR PROTECTOR PAT.

VINTAGE: Circa World War I.

SIZE: Various sizes.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Everything is made of expected materials.

ATTACHMENT: Various.

MARKINGS: Pin reads UNIVERSAL BADGE CO. 3 SCHOOL ST. BOSTON, MASS. on reverse; dog tag is stamped with 39 1917 on reverse; the whistle reads THE ACME THUNDERER PATENT ENGLAND.
