ARTIFACT: This is a World War I lapel pin for the St. John Ambulance Association Ambulance Brigade. The Ambulance Brigade began in 1887, ten years after the founding of the Association itself in the United Kingdom. The Brigade was primarily for dispensing first aid at public events, but its care-giving roots go back centuries. Many nations subsequently formed chapters of St. John.

VINTAGE: Circa World War I.

SIZE: Approximately 3/4" in height and 7/8" in width.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Plated brass with enamel.

ATTACHMENT: Single post with disc backing and one stabilization pin.

MARKINGS: A. KENT & SONS.

CONDITION: 8 (Excellent-): The pin shows very light wear and tarnish.
