This is a World War I era deputy sheriff "posse" badge from Sacramento County, California. The badge shows an eagle at its top and is numbered 1427.

Circa World War I.

Approximately 2-1/2" height and 1-13/16" width.

Nickel-plated brass with painted lettering.

Vertical safety-style pin.
