This is a medal for a mother of a World War I soldier. The medal is a five-pointed star with a scene showing a ship and a lighthouse. The medallion hangs from a starred bar with an eagle at top. The medal reads FOR MOTHERS OF DEFENDERS OF LIBERTY and the reverse reads PRESENTED BY THE CITY OF BUFFALO, N.Y.
VINTAGE:Circa World War I.
SIZE:1-7/8" height and 1-1/4" width.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Lacquered brass.
ATTACHMENT:Horizontal pin with "C" catch on bar and chain links to medallion.
