Description
This is a World War I-era Special Constabulary badge from London, England. The badge is round, showing the United Kingdom coat of arms with a crown at top and bearing the monarchy's motto DIEU ET MON DROIT (God and my right) and the Order of the Garter's motto HONI QUIT MAL PENSE (shame upon him who thinks evil upon it). The badge also reads METROPOLITAN SPECIAL CONSTABULARY.
VINTAGE:Circa World War I.
SIZE:1-15/16" height and 1-3/8" width.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Nickel-plated brass.
ATTACHMENT:Button-hole attachment.
