Description
This is a wonderful and colorful souvenir pin tray given to United States troops in celebration of the liberation of Sedan, France, in Ardennes, on September 5, 194Victory at the Second Battle of Sedan, fought in May 1940, allowed the German forces to penetrate the Maginot Line and occupy France. Upon the tray the Sedan coat of arms, the Cross of Lorraine and a V for Victory is painted in bright blue, red and green, with a bold black boar at center. The tray reads WELCOME TO OUR LIBERATORS along the bottom.
VINTAGE:Circa World War II.
SIZE:Approximately 4-5/8" in length and 3" in width and ½" in depth.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Ceramic.

MARKINGS:Hard to read maker mark for (?) de Monet, MADE IN FRANCE ? SEDAN.

CONDITION:8- (Very Fine-Excellent): The pin tray shows only some small spots of light wear with no cracks or chips.
