This is a Wonderful & Historic Early WWII May 1942 USS SUNFISH SS-281 Submarine Christening/Launching Cage in Original Presentation Case with Historical Documentation.

A submarine christening or launching cage is a protective metal frame: It 25used to hold a champagne bottle during a vessel's launch ceremony. It prevents sharp glass shards from flying and injuring the ship's sponsor or onlookers when the bottle is broken against the hull.
