ARTIFACT:
Wonderful Circa 1948 USAF & US Army Porcelain Enameled Recruiting Sign. This great old recruiting sign is made of heavy porcelain enameled steel. It dates to the very beginnings of the US Air Force, still showing the US Army Air Force winged star emblem, as was worn in WWII. As the fledgling US Air Force probably shared recruiting space with its former Commanding Department, the US Army, one side of the sign also offers recruitment in the Army, for those who might prefer to remain on the ground! The cost includes shipping.
