Wonderful Circa 1948 USAF & US Army Porcelain Enameled Recruiting Sign. This great old recruiting sign is made of heavy porcelain enameled steel. It dates to the very beginnings of the US Air Force, still showing the US Army Air Force winged star emblem, as was worn in WWII. As the fledgling US Air Force probably shared recruiting space with its former Commanding Department, the US Army, one side of the sign also offers recruitment in the Army, for those who might prefer to remain on the ground! The cost includes shipping.
Approximately 25 ½" wide x 27 ½" tall
MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION:
Porcelain enameled steel
Holes for wall attachment
This is from a USAF/US Army collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. Shipping Costs have been added to price. TRVCJJX TRAEJX14 LFGEX8/15
6 (Fine+): The recruiting sign shows moderate wear with a few areas of heavy oxidation, see photos. Much of the enamel details remain intact and the sign is very presentable and displayable. Shipping has been added to the cost.
GUARANTEE: As with all my artifacts, this piece is guaranteed to be original, as described.
