ARTIFACT: This is a wonderful first issue Mount Washington Hotel bellman badge. 

The grand Bretton Woods, New Hampshire hotel opened on July 28, 1902, and its builder, Massachusetts millionaire Joseph Stickney, was dead before Christmas of the following year. 
The hotel is on the National Register of Historic Places. 
The shield-shaped badge is numbered 10 and has blue enameled lettering. It is slightly convex. 
It was made by the John Robbins Manufacturing Company of Boston, Massachusetts.

VINTAGE: Circa early 1902.

SIZE: Approximately 1-3/8" in height and 1-5/16" in width.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Brass, enamel.

ATTACHMENT: Vertical safety-style pin with saddle.

MARKINGS: 10 on front; John Robbins Mfg Co. Boston, Mass. on reverse.

CONDITION: 7+ (Very Fine+): The badge has some small areas of light wear.
