Description

ARTIFACT:

This is a circa 1930s wooden crate for twelve quart bottles of Frank Jones Ale from the Frank Jones Brewery in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. Frank Jones was an iconic New Hampshire businessman and politico in the latter half of the 19th and early 20th century. The sturdy crate has great coloration and notched corners. It was made by the J.H. Dunning Corporation of New York and has a clear maker stamp inside.

VINTAGE:

Circa 1930s.

SIZE:

Approximately 12-3/4" in width and 17" in length and 10-1/2" in height.

CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:

Wood.

ATTACHMENT:

Handle slots, nails.

M'F'D BY J.H. DUNNING CORP. 10 EAST 40TH ST. NEW YORK (all within a capital "D") J-45.
