This is a sterling silver lapel pin for the 1947 Diamond Belt Boxing Championship held by the Philadelphia Inquirer, the nation's third longest-running newspaper. The pin reads PHILADELPHIA INQUIRER 1947 DIAMOND BELT CHAMPIONSHIP and shows two boxers, one landing a right jab.
VINTAGE:Circa 1947.
SIZE:Approximately 3/4" diameter.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Sterling silver with blue and yellow enamel.
ATTACHMENT:Single screw post with disc backing.
MARKINGS:STERLING.
