Vietnam War Era Japanese-Made US Army 82nd Aviation Battalion Oval & Sandcast RVN-Made Jump Wing

This is a circa Vietnam War United States Army 82nd Aviation Battalion oval with a jump wing. The wing was made in the Republic of Vietnam through the process of sandcasting, where sand is used as the mold for a metal. The oval is Japanese-made.

Circa Vietnam War.

Wing: approximately 13/16" in height and 1-1/2" in width; oval: approximately 1-1/4" in height and 2-1/8" in width.

Wing: sandcast brass; oval: fully embroidered in silk/cotton threads.

Wing: two posts with clutchbacks.

Wing: STERLING (this is the mark from the original wing that was used in the sandcasting process).
