ARTIFACT: This is a very rare numbered Panama Canal Roosevelt Medal for service with a second award bar. The medal is round and hangs from a scrolled pin bar, and reads FOR TWO YEARS CONTINUOUS SERVICE ON THE PANAMA CANAL C.J. McGILLICUDDY and shows the bust of President Theodore Roosevelt. The reverse shows the canal and reads PRESENTED BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES THE LAND DIVIDED THE WORLD UNITED No. 2918 1907-09. The award bar reads TWO YEARS on the front and No. 1786 1909-11 on reverse.

VINTAGE: Circa 1909-1911.

SIZE: 1-3/4" height and 1-1/4" width; award bar is 1/2" in height and 1-1/4" wide.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Bronze.

ATTACHMENT: Horizontal pin with "C" catch on medal and links on award bar.

MARKINGS: M.D. BRENNER on front.
