Description

ARTIFACT:

This is a Chinese Order of the Double Dragon, IV Class from the early 20th century. The Imperial Double Dragon was awarded during the Qing Dynasty, which lasted from the mid-seventeenth century until 191Initially bestowed only upon recipients from other countries, the medal was made available to Chinese who served the royalty in some outstanding fashion beginning in 190This medal was probably made in Europe. It is a sunburst shaped medal with two dragons circling a blue orb beneath a smaller sun.

VINTAGE:

Circa early 20th century.

SIZE:

Approximately 2-1/4" diameter (without ring); ribbon is 20-1/2" in total length.

CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:

Silver, enamel, glass/ceramic stones, silk ribbon, metal buckle.

ATTACHMENT:

Suspension ring, ribbon, sliding buckle.
