Description
This is a very rare circa 1930 Turkish pilot wing made in the United Kingdom. The wing was done in classic UK bullion and construction, pin-pointing a rare wing from a rare period of time. After gaining independence in 1923, the fledgling Republic of Turkey aimed to create a suitable Turkish Air Force. In 1930, Turkish personnel were sent to four western countries, including the United Kingdom, for military training. The wing is a golden crescent and star flanked by spread wings.
