ARTIFACT: Very cool circa 1951 – 1952 United States Air Force 29th Air Division woman's compact in aluminum. The center features an enameled 1st patch design emblem in blue and white showing binoculars, a transmission radio, an electric bolt and aircraft above, and with a bottom scroll that reads: "HEADQUARTERS 29TH AIR DIVISION" in blue detailed lettering. The inside of the compact is mirrored and contains a powder puff and screen – the puff features a ribbon handle embroidered: "S. S. GOLD PUFF" in red and green detail.

VINTAGE: Circa 1951 - 1952

SIZE: Approximately 2-3/4" in diameter

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Aluminum, powder puff, screen, enamel, paint, ribbon, silk/polyester thread

ATTACHMENT: Push button closure, hinged lid; Ribbon handle on puff, ribbon pull on screen

MARKINGS: "S. S. GOLD PUFF"

CONDITION: 8 (Excellent-): The compact shows minor to moderate surface wear mostly to underside, the puff shows the slightest use, much of the enamel and painted details remain intact, overall excellent condition.
