ARTIFACT: This is a United States Air Force jacket patch for the 417th Tactical Fighter Squadron. The squadron was notably commanded by Chuck Yeager, the first person to break the sound barrier, from 1954-1956. The 417th then flew F-86F Sabrejets, flowed by the F-100 Super Sabres.

VINTAGE: Circa 1960s.

SIZE: Approximately 3-7/8" in height and 4-1/8" in width.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Cotton muslin embroidered in cotton/silk/polyester threads.

ATTACHMENT: None.

MARKINGS: None.

ITEM NOTES: This is from a United States Air Force collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. TRAJ93 LDEX4/12 SDEX7/13

CONDITION: 7 (Very Fine): The patch shows some areas of light to medium wear and small spots of fading.
