ARTIFACT:

This is an unusual circa 1930's United States Coast Guard Chief Petty Officer (CPO) hat badge that has had the "rope" removed. 

The badge is a golden anchor bearing a silver shield.

VINTAGE:

Circa 1930's.

SIZE:

Approximately 1-5/8" in height and 1-1/8" in width.

CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:

Gilt and silver plated brass.

ATTACHMENT:

Single screw post with disc backing, stabilization post.

MARKINGS:

None.

CONDITION:

7+ (Very Fine+): The badge shows some light wear and tarnish; minor oxidation to the backing only.
