SUBJECT: This is a wonderful, unopened Ballantine’s Scotch whisky ceramic jug-shaped nip with a 1937 Maryland tax stamp. There is also a maker’s mark on the bottom, and a distributor label on the side. Although unopened, the jug’s contents have evaporated.

VINTAGE: Circa 1937.

SIZE: Approximately 3-1/2” in height and 2-1/4” in diameter.

CONSTRUCTION/MATERIALS: Ceramic.

ATTACHMENT: Cap.

MARKINGS: STATE OF MARYLAND LIQUOR TAX NOV 18 ’37 LICENSE NO M-4 METER NO 320 .01 ¾ PAID; IMPORTED BY “21” BRANDS INC. NEW YORK, N.Y.; MADE IN SCOTLAND POBBIL POTTERY GLASGOW on bottom.
