Sunk US Battleship Maine Souvenir

This is a toothpick holder made from recovered metal from the wreckage of the US Battleship Maine. The sinking of this battleship started the Spanish American war. The toothpick holder has an engraved image of the battleship on one side, and the other read"Destroyed in Havana Harbor 1898 Feb 15.

Approximately 2" tall and 1 ½" in diameter at the base.
