Stunning Full Size WWII USN Officer Sub Dolphins in 14K Gold by J E Caldwell & Co of Philly

I just got these back in a trade and I'm happy to have them. Unique jeweler-made full-size World War II officers' submarine dolphins in 14 karat gold. The piece is by J.E.Caldwell & Company of Philadelphia and engraved on reverse as a wedding present: TO THE BEST, BEST MAN. The dolphins are striking in appearance. A lovely red-orange age patina has formed in the recesses of the badge; images do not do it justice.

Circa World War II.

Approximately 13/16" in height and 2-11/16" in width.

14 karat gold (11.6 pennyweight).

Horizontal pin with drop-in locking swivel catch.

Engraved: TO THE BEST, BEST MAN, Stamped: J.E.C. & CO. 14K.
