Description

ARTIFACT:

This is a rare early Korean War United States Air Force 19th Bomb Squadron Japanese-made jacket patch. This squadron operated out of Kadena, Okinawa from 9 July to 30 October 1950. The patch is small in a light shade of purple and shows a woodchuck-like creature standing upon a cloud with a red missile.

VINTAGE:

Circa early Korean War.

SIZE:

Approximately 3" in diameter.

CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:

Fully embroidered with multi-colored cotton/silk/polyester threads.

None.

CONDITION:

7+ (Very Fine+): The patch shows virtually no wear but has a small area of pinkish discoloration on the front.
