Description
This is a circa World War II Meritorious Civilian Service (MSC) lapel pin presented by the United States Navy Bureau of Yards and Docks. Responsible for maintenance of all shipbuilding facilities until 1966, the Bureau awarded the MSC to certain non-military individuals who helped to further their goal. The pin has a "V" resting against some oak leaves at its center that stands for "Victory".
VINTAGE:Circa World War II.
SIZE:Approximately 3/4" in diameter.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Sterling silver, gilt and plated brass, painted areas.
ATTACHMENT:Vertical pin on bar with tongue-style catch.
MARKINGS:None.
