ARTIFACT: Scarce WWII US Army Air Forces Private Purchase Enlisted Man "Crusher" Visor Hat. The wool felt, dark olive drab visor cap features a gilt brass hat badge and buttons that feature the Great Seal of the United States. The inside shows a leather headband.

VINTAGE: Circa WWII

SIZE: Approximately size 6-7/8 US (measures 21-3/4" or 58 cm/580 mm), Front to back: 9" x 7-3/4" in total length including visor; Forehead to Back: 6-1/2"; Ear to Ear: 7-3/4"

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Wool felt, leather, silk, gilt brass, vinyl

ATTACHMENT: Leather chin strap with buckle

MARKINGS: None.

ITEM NOTES: This is from a USAAF uniform collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. ebay MBJX15 LABEX1/16

CONDITION: 7+ (Very Fine+): The visor hat moderate wear, the vinyl lining on inside shows storage wear and separation, the leather is soft, a few very small moth nips to felt.
