Description

ARTIFACT:

This is a scarce World War II era United States Coast Guard Good Conduct medal, 1st Type. The medal is unnamed and unnumbered, and hangs from a red ribbon with one narrow white stripe down the middle. The front reads SEMPER PARATUS (Always ready) and the reverse reads FIDELITY ZEAL OBEDIENCE.

VINTAGE:

Circa World War II.

SIZE:

Approximately 3-5/8" in height x 1-3/4" in width.

CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:

Bronze, silk.

ATTACHMENT:

Suspension ring on medal, horizontal pin on bar with come-under locking swivel catch.

MARKINGS:

None.
