ARTIFACT:
Scarce WWII, circa 1944, United States Army Air Forces 867th Bombardment Squadron 494th Bombardment Group 7th Air Force Aussie-made jacket patch. This example is a first variation with "Playboys" nickname. The patch shows a top hat and cane, champagne glass, white gloves, two white stars: one with three cherries. Across the top it reads: "PLAYBOYS".

WWII, Circa 1944.
SIZE:
Approximately 4 1/8" diameter.
MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION:
Embroidered wool felt, cotton/silk threads, vinylized clothback
ATTACHMENT:
To be sewn on to flight garment.
