ARTIFACT: Scarce WWI 104th Infantry Regiment badge or distinctive insignia in the shape of a flaming torch. The 104th, part of the 26th Yankee Division with a motto "FORTITUDE ET COURAGE" (Fortitude and Courage) fought from start to finish of WWI taking part in six major campaigns: Chemin Des Dames, Apremont, Campagne-Marne, Aisne Marne, St. Mihiel, and Meuse-Argonne. In France, the 104th was engaged in heavy battle and experienced greatest number of casualties of the 26th Division.

VINTAGE: Circa WWI.

SIZE: Approximately 2-7/8" in height x 1-1/8" in width.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Stamped sheet nickel.

ATTACHMENT: Vertical 'T' style pin with tongue type C catch.

MARKINGS: None.

CONDITION: 7+ (Very Fine+): Badge shows light to moderate wear, nearly all the plating details remain fully intact.
