This is a scarce variant World War II patch for the United States Army Air Forces 3rd Air Force. The patch shows a three-dimensional number 3 surrounding a star, and is embroidered in silk upon wool felt.
VINTAGE:Circa World War II.
SIZE:Approximately 2-5/8" in diameter.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Wool felt embroidered in silk threads, muslin backing.
ATTACHMENT:None.
MARKINGS:None.
