ARTIFACT: This is a scarce July 1943 restricted propaganda/morale booklet on "The Story of the Memphis Belle". In May 1943 the Memphis Belle became the first United States Army Air Forces heavy bomber craft to complete 25 European missions and then return home safely. Pictured above is the Belle's crew.

VINTAGE: Circa 1943.

SIZE: 36 pages: about 6-3/4" in height and 4-1/8" in width.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Oaktag cover, paper.

ATTACHMENT: Stapled binding.

MARKINGS: CONVALESCENT HOME STATION HOSPITAL D. ACC. SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS stamped and "e;Convalescent Home"e; written on cover; TRAINING AIDS DIVISION ARMY AIR FORCES PARK AVENUE AND 32ND STREET NEW YORK CITY JULY 1943 on title page and R. & R. DAYTON-6-30-43-250M on reverse.
