Description
Scarce circa 1950 Ð 1957 United States Naval Air Training Command jacket patch. The patch can be dated for 1950 Ð 57 as this is when the carrier insignia became an angle deck version. The original version of this design was approved in 1948 and an updated version is still in use today. The center of the patch features a NAS with an aircraft taking off from its deck, beneath is a large naval pilot wing, and along the top it read"NAVAL AIR TRAINING COMMAND".
