Scarce, early 1950's Boston, Massachusetts Police Patrolman Badge Set #51The breast badge reads: "POLICE BOSTON" and in the center disc depicts a port and below it reads: "BOSTONIA CONDITA AD. 1630", around the disc embossed letters read: "SICUT CIVITATIS REGIMINE DONATA AD 1822 PATRIBUS SIT DEUS NOBIS" and is numbered #519 on reverse. The hat badge appears to have been re-plated in the period of use. The breast badge is in exceptional condition with very light wear and nice patina. Hat badge is chrome-plated nickel on brass, finish does not match, but #'s do.

Approximately Ð Breast Badge: 2 7/8" x 2 3/16"; Hat Badge: 2 3/16" x 2"

Nickel plated brass, chrome-plated nickel on brass.

Breast badge: Vertical kick pin with drop in tension locking swivel catch; Hat badge: Single screw post and disc backing.

8+ (Excellent): The breast badge is in exceptional condition with very light wear and nice patina. Hat badge is chrome-plated nickel on brass, finish does not match, but #'s do, appears to have been re-plated in the period of use.
