ARTIFACT: This is a rare 1945 submarine commissioning program from Boston Navy Yard, for the submarine USS Lancetfish (SS-296). Launched August 15, 1943 and commissioned February 12, 1945, Lancetfish was to see no action or even a patrol. While tied up at Boston's Pier 8 just over a month after the commissioning, she was flooded to sinking, and shortly thereafter raised and decommissioned.

VINTAGE: Circa 1945.

SIZE: Approximately 8" in height and 5-1/4" in width (when folded).

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Paper.

ATTACHMENT: None (folded in fourths).

MARKINGS: None.
