Description
This is a rare World War II United States Navy jacket patch for MTB RON-41 Motor Torpedo Boat Squadron 41 PT Boat Patrol Torpedo. The squadron was commissioned on 17 September 1945 and Decommissioned 8 February 194The Squadron was assigned to the Pacific Fleet for its somewhat short existence of Five months, but the Squadron's PT Boats, #'s 613-624 never made it past Miami and never saw any combat. The patch shows a cool skull with crossed torpedoes in a "Jolly Roger" design. The eye sockets and mouth hole have been cleverly turned into the words MTB RON 41.
